Mit diesem Ausspruch wirbt Jook um Interessenten.

Jook is set to revolutionize the music world and take the “industry” out of music. We firmly believe that music is a social experience, and Jook is set to get the music you love out there so everyone can appreciate it. Jook is an innovative new way to share music with friends, acquaintances and maybe even that cute guy you see in the subway on your way to work every day. Imagine sitting down in a bus and being able to share your music with everyone on that bus, with a touch of a button. Now imagine it happening in an entire city. It is our belief that music is meant to be shared with everyone, and we want to invite you to take part in our Free Music revolution. We’re looking for one city that shares this belief, a place where music is universal, a place where music is shared, a place where music is social.

Hört sich ja alles ganz schön und toll und sozial und überhaupt total weltverbesserisch an. Funktionieren soll das Ganze mit der Jook-Hardware, die man an einen kompatiblen MP3-Player anschließt und dann zwischen drei verschiedenen Modi wählen kann: dem “Me Mode”, bei dem eigentlich nichts passiert, dem “Us Mode”, bei dem das gerade laufende Musikstück im direkten Umfeld ausgestrahlt wird und dem “U Mode”, der es erlaubt, bei einem Gerät, das im “Us Mode” ist, mitzulauschen. Durch farbige LEDs kann jeder Passant von außen erkennen, in welchem Modus sich das Jook-Gadget gerade befindet. So weit, so gut.

Mal davon abgesehen, dass dieses kameradschaftliche Teilen in Deutschland dank GEMA-Gebühren und der äußerst liberalen Urheberrechtspolitik nur sehr eingeschränkt möglich ist (aber hey, es soll ja auch eine Revolution sein!), ist mir auf der Jook-Webseite allerdings noch eine Kleinigkeit aufgefallen (Fettdruck von mir hinzugefügt):

Geht es um sein eigenes Eigentum, scheint dem Unternehmen nicht viel an der hochgepriesenen Freiheit zu liegen. Schade drum.
